46 young women and men with aspirations of getting a future carrier within shipping were gathered at NORDEN’s head office in Hellerup in Denmark yesterday afternoon.
They are all applying for a job as Shipping Trainee in NORDEN, and they have all passed the initial selection. In 2016, NORDEN needs to hire 3 to 4 Shipping Trainees in Denmark, all starting their training on 1 August. Thus the applicants were invited to an event where they were further introduced to NORDEN and the day-to-day life of a Chartering Manager or an Operations Manager by Shipping Trainees Stine Gøttrup and Christoffer John Hansen.
After a guided tour around the head office, the applicants were divided into 10 teams with the objective to compete against each other in a 2 hour long play as Chartering Managers – supported by NORDEN’s current team of Shipping Trainees and observed by a team of experienced NORDEN-employees who will also participate in the final selection of the 3 to 4 most lucky applicants.
Also NORDEN’s overseas offices in the USA, Singapore and China are going to hire Shipping Trainees this year – probably 1 to 2 at each office. The overseas offices conduct their own recruitment processes.
