NORDEN has been identified as a Nordic leader for the quality of climate change related information that it has disclosed to investors and the global marketplace through CDP, the international not-for-profit organisation. NORDEN has therefore been awarded a position on the Nordic Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) for the 6th consecutive year.
The reported data has been independently assessed against CDP’s scoring methodology and marked out of 100. Those organisations graded within the top 10% in the region constitute the CDLI. NORDEN has scored 99.
Commenting on NORDEN’s CDLI position, CSR Director Ulla E. Nielsen says:
“We are pleased that for the 6th consecutive year, we have been awarded a top position. We believe it is important that the data we communicate is credible and therefore all of our reported data is verified by an external third party. Transparency is key and in order for us to measure our progress in reaching our ambitious targets of reducing fuel consumption and emissions, we need precise data. Reporting to the CDP helps us structure the data in a useful manner for stakeholders and ourselves.”
Due to higher activity and thereby higher fuel consumption and higher emissions, NORDEN has gone from performance band A to performance band B.
At the request of 822 investors, who represent USD 78 trillion in assets, thousands of companies submit annual climate disclosures to CDP. Top scores indicate a high level of transparency in the disclosure of climate change-related information, providing investors with a level of comfort to assess corporate accountability and preparedness for changing market demands and emissions regulation.
Paul Dickinson, executive chairman and co-founder of CDP says:
“As the world looks beyond the Paris climate change negotiations and prepares for a low carbon future, reliable information about how companies are responding to the transition will be ever more valuable. For this reason we congratulate those businesses that have achieved a position on CDP’s Climate Disclosure Leadership Index.”
